Sagging Pants | Not In Dublin You Don’t!

So I just read in the newspaper that the city of Dublin Georgia has banned the sagging baggy pants style. I’m not sure about the bagginess involved in the ordinance, but having the waist band 3 inches or more below the hip is now illegal. Several people went to the meeting to speak out against the new ordinance but were obviously not persuasive enough. I would love to know what you all think about this ordinance! Dublin Ga Fireworks 2010

The fireworks in Dublin GA this year, held on Saturday July 3rd, were obviously less invested than years before, but that doesn’t mean they were unimpressive. With only three noticeable short pauses in the show, the size (not height) and colors easily justified the down-times. As usual, everyone always wants the finale to be longer and bigger than last year’s, but that wasn’t really expected this year because of the forewarned smaller budget. I thought they did a really nice job with finale though, setting off lots of the biggest and loudest fireworks all night. Even with a smaller budget and the paper telling people to expect less, the 2010 Dublin GA fireworks show was well planed and executed.

First Friday | Dublin Georgia’s Monthly Party Fix

First Friday is a great addition to downtown Dublin. We have had great responses and turnouts of over 200 people. ANYTHING that gets people downtown and excited about being downtown is a positive for EVERYONE downtown. This is a new event and we have learned and grown from each one so far. Getting the word out has been an issue and we are always open to suggestions. Operating solely on donations we are limited in advertising funds. We are preparing for our 4th First Friday to take place August 6 and are looking forward to more fun and fellowship with good music and good friends. I took pictures of the last event and have been flipping through them seeing families laughing, kids blowing bubbles and playing, people enjoying hanging out and feeling safe in a beautiful venue in downtown Dublin.
